Senior David Rodriguez, Travis Rebel Wrestler, advanced through Regionals to the State Tournament, February 22-23 in Cypress, Texas, for the third consecutive year. He lost both matches. He finished second in Regionals in the Varsity Weight Class 220.

This is the sixth time since 2013 that Travis Rebel Wrestlers advanced to State.

Earlier in the season, Sophomore Ricky Zamora, Senior Captain David Rodriguez, Junior Robert Perez, and Sophomore Lorenzo Puente advanced to Regionals at DELCO Activity Center.

At District Level, Zamora took 3rd for Varsity Weight Class 106, Rodriguez took 3rd for Varsity Weight Class 220, Perez took 4th for Varsity Weight Class 190, Puente look 3rd for Varsity Weight Class 145, Captain Sam Shaabneh took 5th Varsity Weight Class 170, Josh Vance took 6th for Varsity Heavy Weight, John Rocha took 3rd for 170, and Cris Diaz took 3rd for 190. Sergio took 1st for JV Weight Class 120, Fernando took 5th for JV Heavy Weight.

What do I do in my free time? I spend time with my family, try and compose some music, shoot pictures, draw and write for fun and entertainment.

My post-high school plans: I plan to go to college and become an architect so I can make eco-friendly buildings for people and companies.

Where I will be in 10 years? I will have my own condo and will be working for a company or I will have my own.
